What is a good diet – for health and weight loss
What is a Good Diet Plan to Lose Weight?
Take it from me I have tried everything and when I say everything I mean everything South Beach, Atkins, the fruit diet and every other fad diet you can think of I have tried.
The problem with all of them is at first you are full steam ahead and then you get bored of eating the same stuff or you just don’t lose weight at all and get frustrated. The end result off all those fad diets is the same you quit them within four months tops..
Look at it like this; let’s take your monthly bills for example what if when your bills came in you put one in the kitchen one in the living room one in the bedroom etc so they were spread out all over the house- you don’t write them down anywhere and basically you are completely unorganized with them, well after five months of doing this you would have no idea where you stood financially and you would probably be overwhelmed and discouraged.
Now picture taking all those bills making a spread sheet and balancing everything out – you would be able to see the big picture and it would not seem so intimidating.
Losing weight and dieting is exactly the same thing. You have no idea where you stand calorie wise, what you should be eating and everyone is throwing fad diets into the mix to confuse you more and frustrate you more
To lose weight you need to get organized – you need to be able to look at the big picture – where you are at, where you want to be, what you are eating what you should be eating then balance it all out. This will make your life 100% easier and much like getting those bills paid, you will reach your ideal weight.
I would like to recommend a program to you that is the equivalent to QuickBooks for your bills but this is for your diet and it is called Strip The Fat. A lot of people ask “what is a good diet plan to lose weight” and my answer is “Strip The Fat is not only a good diet plan to lose weight, it is the best and only!”
I myself have used this program and now I tell everyone about it. It is a program that you install on your computer and it manages your diet for you! It is so easy and so effective that it even prints out a shopping list for you!! It is the best diet plan to lose weight and will certainly give you that organization and balance you need to lose the big pounds!
If you really want to lose weight forget about the fad diets that don’t work and go to http://www.squidoo.com/lose_my_gut to find out more about the Strip The Fat Program
How To Diet: Overcome The Freshman Fifteen
The term “freshman fifteen” is applied to the notion that first year college students often gain as much as 15 pounds of weight during their first year. Research studies have been in disagreement as to whether this is true or whether it is an “urban rumor”.
While some study findings report that while the weight of some incoming students is the same by the end of their freshman year, others conclude that the freshman year “may” lead to weight and fat gain. Well, duh-uh!
Let’s make two assumptions and reach our own conclusion:
1. You are a freshman college student.
2. You eat more food than you require for the healthy maintenance of your body.
Conclusion: You will gain weight.
There! We’ve done our own research study and have come to a valid and sure conclusion. The key as to whether or not you gain weight is dependent upon one factor…the number of calories you consume, and the number of calories your body uses.
Let’s say you want to avoid weight gain. Here’s what you do:
- Ask your doctor or the school nurse how many calories you should eat per day to maintain your health and weight.
He/she will most likely give you information regarding the USDA 2010 nutritional guidelines called “MyPlate”.
- Follow those guidelines for your daily meal planning to ensure that your nutritional “foundation” is strong and that you are controlling the size of your portions.
- Don’t skip meals. The temptation to binge at the next meal is hard to overcome.
- Eliminate, right now, all sugar-sweetened drinks: soda, iced tea, coffee, energy drinks. Drink water or skim milk.
- Sugar is lethal to weight control. One can of sugar-sweetened soda per day can indeed cause a 15 pound weight gain in one year.
- Don’t eat while watching TV, using the computer, telephone, play station, or while studying.
This practice is referred to as “mindless” eating.
- When you eat, focus on the food…period.
- Don’t eat unless you are truly engaged in the process of eating.
- When you snack, choose nutritious foods that are low in calories, fat (especially saturated fat), and sodium.
- Opt for fruit and vegetable chunks, a tablespoon of peanut butter on a couple of crackers, reduced fat cheese, yogurt, or nuts.
(Skip the banana Twinkies and Dwight Yoakam’s Macaroni Mouth Poppers).
Above all, kids, do not obsess about your weight. For the rest of your life, weight will go up and down to one extent or another.
Your weight is not who you are. You are a valuable and loved person.
Focus on the things that are good about you…and there are many: a good student, a good friend, a hard worker, a special daughter, a considerate roommate, a friendly person with a good heart, a helper of those in need…or whatever.
The fact is, you are worthwhile and you need to learn to be your own best friend. Do what you can to manage your weight but don’t throw yourself under the bus in the process.
You can beat the “Freshman 15″.

What is a Good Diet Plan?
As this New Year is beginning many people are wondering what is a good diet plan. There are some general guidelines to follow that we will lay out for you so that you can choose the one that is the best for you. Just follow these rules and you will be able to choose from the plethora of plans that are in books as well as all over the internet.
The first thing we must look at when determining what is a good diet plan is the main theme of the diet. The main theme we want to stick with is overall moderate healthy eating. We do not want to go into extremes like low carbs or starvation. With this being said here are the rules you should follow.
1. 4-6 Meals – You should be eating at least 4 to 6 meals because this promotes a high metabolism and helps to make sure your body is using the food for energy and not for fat accumulation.
2. Water – The best diets have you drinking a lot of water. If the program does not mention drinking at least 64 ounces of water then they are crazy. Stay away from the ones that do not mention this.
3. All Natural Foods – This diet needs to revolve around all natural foods. You do not want to be eating processed foods or anything with white sugar or flour. These are not natural and promote fat deposits.
4. Exercise – Any eating program is not complete without either mentioning or laying out an exercise program. With any diet you must be also incorporating some sort of activity to help burn the calories.
These are the main rules that you need to follow when determining what is a good diet plan. Just put these rules up against any diet you are looking at and then you can decide if this program will help you achieve your goals long term.

How To Cheat During A Diet And Not Feel Guilty Later! 4 Useful Tips
Are you looking to start a diet, but you’re afraid you won’t be able to have cheat days? If so, then I have good news. With any NATURAL diet program, you can in fact cheat during the diet and NOT suffer any consequences! Having said that, it’s important to know how to cheat during a diet in order for it to not ruin your diet and make you feel guilty. Here are 4 tips that I followed during my diet that helped me be able to cheat without the guilt, without ruining my diet, and actually helped me skyrocket my metabolism!
1. In The Beginning Of Your Diet…
Only have cheat meals and not cheat days. Now I’m not judging you or anything, but the reason this is so important is because more than likely in the beginning of your program, you are going to be more susceptible to giving up.
Therefore, having ENTIRE days devoted to eating like you lost your mind is highly NOT recommended when you first start out! The best approach that worked for me and many others is to simply have a cheat meal (and snack or dessert) once a week. Once you have been on your program for at least a couple of weeks and have been consistent with it, you’ll find it easier to have full cheat days and not fall into the temptation to continue cheating past your cheat day!
2. Do Not Ruin Your Diet…
By overdoing it on a cheat meal or cheat day. This is important because when you cheat, chances are your body is craving bad foods like crazy since you have been eating healthy more often. Therefore, it is very easy for you to devour whatever bad food is in sight!
It is important to note that although you are eating healthier than you are having bad foods, if you over-do it with cheating, you can still ruin your diet.
What I did on my cheat days is I would have my favorite meals in medium-sized portions. For example, for breakfast I would have a bowl of my favorite sugary cereal, for lunch, I would have maybe a burger and fries, and for dinner, I would have some spaghetti. That’s it. And the next day, it was right back to normal healthy eating.
3. If You Don’t Feel Like Cheating…
DON’T! This is great news! This is a tell-tell sign that your body is starting to crave healthier food options! When I got to this point I was so freaking happy! It almost feels liberating to know that bad foods no longer control me… I control when I want bad foods or not!
So, if when your cheat day arrives and you are not craving bad foods, then by all means DO NOT force yourself to eat them.
4. Get Cheating To Actually Work For You…
By doing it in a way that it will actually boost your metabolism. The way to make this possible is by going on a diet program that is centered around eating more often during the day. The reason why a diet such as this and cheating goes hand-in-hand is because both of them combined (if done the right way) will SKYROCKET your metabolism to the maximum peak for crazy fat loss!
And if you want to Melt Away Fat QUICKLY and permanently drop 9 pounds EVERY 11 DAYS, then the diet program I used and that I highly recommend is the “calorie shifting diet” from Fat Loss 4 Idiots…
I lost an amazing 52 lbs. of fat in 2 months using this popular online fat loss program… and it all has stayed off FOR GOOD! It works because it naturally raises your metabolism by having you eat REAL FOOD…
