Thursday, January 18th, 2007

When I used my home pots and pans as camping cookware I ruined quite a few things. One was my favorite boiling pot and I have not been able to replace it. This pot was something my mom gave me, and she had had it from many years before. It was something that was no longer made but it worked like a dream. Because I didn’t buy special camping cookware I had to take that with me.

Quality Kitchen Equipment To Enjoy Cooking

Friday, January 5th, 2007

We started by looking at a new stove top for their house. We also bought pots and pans as well as an array of utensils. My daughter was looking at all the different gadgets that are on the market for kitchen equipment. I explained to her that the gadgets take up counter and shelf space and that I have found that they take more time to dig out and clean after their use than they save. I encouraged her to spend money on a good set of knives and to forget all the choppers and other kitchen equipment that is suppose to shorten cooking time.

Christmas Table Decoration

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

Placemats may be used directly on the table, or in a layered look on top of a tablecloth. It is possible for your project to get out of hand, producing a too-busy or overdone effect. When planning your Christmas table decorations, do a dry run, placing each element as you go along. Don’t rely on imaging the result in your mind. Napkin rings come in many different materials to suit your theme. Brass, silver, rattan, plastic, tortoise shell and even ceramic ones are some of the many choices you’ll find. Candle holders are a must for the well-dressed Christmas table. Silver and gold are always popular. Hand-painted ceramic candlesticks give a comfortable feel, with a less formal look. Gear your choice to your theme. With a little careful planning, your Christmas table decorations may draw as many compliments as your food.

Outdoor cooking equipment

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

 From www.tents.info

BBQ

Of course, with most outdoor cooking equipment, it is between these two extremes. With barbecue equipment, you have the luxury of doing the vast majority of the preparation inside before you even start doing the cooking. This keeps the amount of outdoor cooking equipment that you actually need to a minimum. A chef’s apron, tongs, a nice serving plate, and a spatula will probably do it, at least as far as outdoor cooking equipment goes. That, and of course, charcoal, lighter fluid, and a match.
