Pasta Gift Basket

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Looking at various gift baskets I came across a pasta gift basket that was an interesting concept. We have got pretty much used to the variety of baskets in the market place nowadays such as baby basket, spa, sports, BBQ baskets, etc. But, I can’t tell you how impressed I was with this type of dinner basket.

A pasta basket is a great idea as there are many types of dried foods that you could get gift wrapped and sent which won’t need refrigeration. But I liked the idea of one of the basket choices that went a step further and would package up with your suggestions, or they would do it themselves – an Italian gourmet meal for two. Not only is this clever marketing, but they will include a recipe that could be followed easily and of course the foods required are in the basket! What also appealed to me is the fact that they will deliver the items cleverly packaged in a colander which can be used with the meal and then kept for a keepsake after.

Announcing The Bodum 8-Cup Stainless-Steel Thermal French Coffee Press Review

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

The french press broke a few days ago. Whenever the espresso coffee machine is not in use (click here for our own review of the Cuisinart EM-100 Espresso maker) or whenever we have got visitors then we constantly utilize our french coffee press. Really this is the 3rd french coffee press that’s smashed on us so we are looking for a better made coffee press . The Bodum Columbia 8-Cup Stainless-Steel Thermal Press Pot certainly will do the job!

Product Description

Perfect for the home or the workplace, this french coffee press coffeemaker doubles as an insulated thermos so coffee remains hot and fresh for around two hours. The pot keeps Thirty four ounces (1 liter), virtually seven Five-ounce cups, and works extremely well for making tea as well as coffee. It’s made from stainless steel polished to a mirror-finish, includes a big, comfortable handle, and is dishwasher-safe. The lid seals in warmth remarkably well and turns to stop heat from escaping through the spout between pours. The pot stands Eight-1/2 inches high, including the plunger top.

Product Details

* French press produces coffee directly in thermos

* Retains Thirty four-ounces, virtually seven Five-ounce cups

* Keeps coffee warm for 2 hours

* Made of stainless-steel finished to mirror-finish

* Dishwasher safe

French Press coffee has one negative aspect, if you don’t deliver the total pot whenever it’s first brewed then it seems to be cool. This pot could be a help. It is not really fantastic but it maintains the coffee warm or hot for awhile. I fill it full of very hot tap water before I create the coffee in it and after that the coffee stays hot for more time. I believe it’s the very best press available on the market at this price tag.

One other factor to be conscious of is when these coffee pots are rated for 10-Twelve cups that they will be some what less. The cups they’re discussing usually are 4 ounce cups. All these coffee pots help make Four regular cups of coffee and no greater. PS: It is an affordable way to lower your coffee store costs.

Looking for a special gift for someone who loves to cook? How about a gift olive oil set for your chef? I found a great resource for you…

As in life, it is the little things that make something special. A fine olive oil is something you’ll want to have on hand for entertaining special guests. Having it as an appetizer along with bread as your guests gather in the kitchen is a wonderful icebreaker. Cooking with it along with vine ripened tomatoes and feta cheese is very flavorful.

Most people believe that Italian olive oil is the only one to have stocked in your kitchen pantry. However, you will find excellent oils available from Greece, Spain, France, and more recently Australia, South Africa, and California. If you are giving oils as a gift, why not choose a product from each region and have a cook off to determine which you think is the best?

Buying the Right Espresso Machine

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Just as there are many different kinds of espresso flavors and drinks on the market today, so too are there just as many different ways to make an espresso beverage. The main difference, however, in making an espresso base coffee beverage lies in the machine that is used to make it. There are multiple types of espresso machines on the market today and buying the right one is crucial to having the best espresso beverage for yourself and the other individuals you have purchased the machine for. Many people use an espresso machine in their business, and coffee shops are the perfect example of businesses that typically invest in espresso machines.

See a review for the best espresso machine.

Altogether, though, there are more than five different types of espresso machines and the taste of the espresso is probably slightly different when made from each one even though the process of making the espresso is basically the same. The most popular type of espresso machine that is used throughout America coffee shops and breakfast restaurants, though, is the pump-driven espresso machine that is made from the piston espresso machine! This type of espresso machine is interesting because it basically streamlines the whole espresso-making process and makes the process of getting espresso very simple! In fact, many of these types of American espresso machines are automatic, which means that a single button just has to be pushed in order to get some espresso out of it!

On the other hand, some people in other countries routinely use the stovetop espresso machine. This is a machine that, as the name states, sits on your stove and produces espresso. However, the method of doing so is interesting because these types of machines are true steam-driven espresso machines. Hot water is heated in the bottom of the machine, which is forced up to the middle of the espresso machine where the actual beverage is made!

When buying the right espresso machine, though, you’ll probably first and foremost want to invest in one of the easiest espresso machines, which is a pump-driven or even motor-driven espresso machine. All of these espresso machines can be quite expensive, but depending on how enthusiastic you are about your favorite coffee beverage will probably dictate how much money you’re willing to spend. For starters, though, an inexpensive espresso machine around $150 may be just the perfect one to start with.

An issue, though, when buying the right kind of espresso machine is to make sure that it allows you to have the most control over your espresso as possible. For example, does it have different settings for the grinding of the coffee beans? In addition, is the espresso machine that you are interested in contain an automatic whipped cream dispenser, along with a timer for the espresso? All of these things are important, though, when buying the right type of espresso machine, and if you are an avid espresso drinker then you probably will want to invest in the best possible espresso machine possible to suit your tastes!

For When You Love Cooking

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Of all the things I love to do, cooking is one of the best. I read every book and article about cooking, trying to find the newest and greatest products and hints. I recently read the article “My Seven Favorite Things about an Electric Skillet and I was hooked. I went out and bought one right away. Now, it might sound crazy, but I’m definitely not crazy. I didn’t buy the meat saw parts the last article recommended. But I do know that my cooking time has lessened and my cooking has actually improved since getting this skillet.

Review on Weber grill

Friday, June 26th, 2009

We have a big happy family. Our parents have five children and all grown up. Three siblings already stated own family. My youngest brother and I are still busy with career. Thanks God, all of us stay within the one state. So we can see each other and have family party quite often. The most welcome home event is barbecue dinner in our parents’ house backyard.

Our parents are well in old ages. They are kind, hard working and responsible parents. All of us are love and respect them very much. This year is their fiftieth wedding anniversary, we want to give them a perfect gift to show our love. Though many discussions on phone, we finally decided to buy a barbecue grill for them. A good gas grill machine is very helpful to cook at home and easy to cook for a big family like ours. And both of my parents are loving cooking and health food.

However there are so many brands of gas barbecue grill in the market. Just type “gas barbecue grill in Google search engine, you can find few millions results from the Internet. We don’t know what we should buy for lovely parents. So we asked around friends, relatives and colleagues for advices and suggestion and want to purchase a gas grill from the most famous grill brand Weber.

One of best selling gas grill series of Weber – Summit Series, which lunched in 2007 came to our top choice. This stunning Genesis E-310 comes in three colors black, blue and green. This model provide the perfect size for most families like us. You can choose from propane (LP) and natural gas to meet family needs. In 2009, the Weber Genesis E-310 upgrade to 3 separately controlled burners (rated at 42,000 BTU), an enclosed cart to store the propane tank, a built-in commercial-grade thermometer and a warming rack. These improvements could serve your family BBQ party better and more efficiency. It also has an electronic crossover ignition system that works electronically to light the grill even without manually pressed the button. The last but not least, Weber even proudly provides all its products with a best-in-class warranty that covers the major parts of the grill for 10-25 years.

After compare brands, functions, and price, we bought the Weber Genesis E-310 (black) as gift for our parents’ wedding anniversary. They like it very much. It is also easy to cleanup and assembly. More importantly, the Weber Genesis E-310 spends less grill time and grill food are very tasty. Thus, I highly recommended it as wonderful cooking utensils or family gift to anyone need gas grill.

An article about: Coffee Gift Baskets

I recall after graduation how huge coffee suddenly became. Gloria Jeans, Starbucks, Seattle’s Best and many others stormed the markets. You could find a coffee shop at every turn. The big department stores also began selling coffee gift baskets…

Chocolate Truffles – Memorable Gift

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

If you are looking to find great chocolates there is little that can stand up to local regional shops. Whenever I go on vacation anywhere I always try to see if there are any local chocolate maker that can make great custom chocolate gifts or chocolate truffles for me. Many times these shops will have unique custom combinations that can provide a whole new taste experience. Whether you are in Chicago or Bern, there is bound to be someone in the city that can make you a unique chocolate gifts or treat for yourself or your family waiting at home.

Often times I will simply let the shop decide what to put in the package, but if you can like I said earlier find out what their true specialty is. After that see if there is anything regional that you can go with to make the chocolates memorable.

Office Christmas Party? Bring A Hamper

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Treat your co-workers to delicacies they don’t normally get by bringing a couple of Christmas Hampers to the office party. The Xmas Hampers can be purchased decorated and already filled with delectable imported chocolates, cheeses, and wines.

If you work in a small office, are familiar with your co-workers likes and dislikes, you might consider bringing individual Christmas Hampers to each co-worker, and personalizing the hampers by requesting contents you know they would enjoy.

These Christmas Hampers do not have to contain edibles. You may choose to add stationary, a pen set, a desk organizer, a day planner, and a desk calendar instead. Or, you could compromise between the two, by choosing edibles and a small gift to be included in each individual Christmas Hamper.

Personal Gift Baskets

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

When I need an especially personal gift for someone, I make a gift basket. Choosing the right basket, filling it with perfect things, and then covering it with tissue paper or ribbons is all very personal work. I get a few of my ideas from the article “Creating a Food Gift Basket for Any Occasion and I come up with the rest from its suggestions. And I’ve also learned a lot about my friends this way. For instance, Julie really likes Pez dispensers of all things and Carmen likes gourmet pistachio nuts and chocolate. Charley enjoys salted foods, so pretzels, chips, and nuts are always good with him. So, when I put together a basket, I simply keep these things in mind, and then I design the basket especially for them.
