Apple Cider Vinegar Each Day Keeps the Doctor Away!

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

acid reflux? Nausea or other stomach ailments? Apple Cider Vinegar! Your stomach needs the acid to digest food. And in fact, when you experience heartburn or acid reflux, it’s not excess acid that’s the problem; it’s a lack of acid. By taking Apple Cider Vinegar, you are mimicking the PH level of acid in your stomach, which helps you digest the food properly rather than suppressing the acid and temporarily treating the burn. Acid reflux and nausea can be instantly stopped with a quick swig of Apple Cider Vinegar, commonly called ACV. The most important thing about ACV is getting the right kind. Don’t just grab it off the shelf at the grocery store, because that ACV has been treated and pasteurized and is missing the most powerful part. The best ACV is natural vinegar from the health food store, which still contains the “mother”. Either method can be combined with honey if preferred. For a hot drink which will mix the honey even better, use hot water, honey and a teaspoon or so of ACV, and sip it like a tea or hot cider.

Monday, December 17th, 2007

There are many natural cures for asthma. Of course, since the FDA does not endorse these, it may take some time for patients to accept it. The point is, that you do have choices if you are willing to try them. There is acupuncture, which uses needles to stimulate chemical reactions within the body to correct the existing imbalances. Many people reported that acupuncture is extremely beneficial. One should be very careful however regarding the sterilization of the needles. An option could be to carry your own set with you, which can be thrown away after each session.

Another supposedly effective natural cure for asthma is yoga. Yoga is an ancient science originating from India, whereby one does some particular exercises (the positions of which are called asanas) by which the problems inside the body and mind can be cured. Some people find it highly effective, while the peculiar positions that the yoga dictates horrify some people. It depends upon you if you would like to choose this type of any other natural cure for asthma.

Asthma is Not as Bad as It Sounds…

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

An asthmatic person can lead a close to normal life, as long as they take care that they do not run into any asthma triggers. Be overcautious when you travel, since sudden change in the temperature, dust, pollution, strong smells and so on can really be bothersome when you are on the move. Always carry adequate doses of medicines and be prepared for an attack.

The advice here is to become as allergy proof as possible. In places where you cannot prevent it, be prepared for it. It is a good idea to carry along with you a card or wear a tag with telephone numbers of a contact person (or doctor) so that in case of any emergency you can receive help fast. The last word is that you should treat the asthma cough as a friend not an enemy, as it warns you about an attack.

Vitamins: what they are and why they are important

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

Vitamins are divided into two major groups: the ‘fat-soluble vitamins’ designated as vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K, and the ‘water-soluble vitamins’ which include vitamin C and the group of molecules referred to as the vitamin B complex. Vitamin A, a fat-soluble vitamin, plays a really big part in eyesight and helps us to see in dim light and also at night. Vitamin B itself is a complex of different vitamins like: B1, B2, B6, B12, niacin, folic acid, biotin and pantothenic acid. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that regulates the formation of bone and the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the intestine. It is this vitamin you need for strong bones and teeth. Vitamin D can be found in fish liver oil, egg yolks, milk and other dairy products fortified with vitamin D. The deficiency of vitamin D can cause weak bones and bowed legs (in children). Vitamin E, a fat-soluble vitamin, is essential for the inhibition of oxidation in body tissues, formation of red blood cells, and also prevents breakdown of body tissues. The deficiency of this vitamin can cause many diseases like cancer, Diabetes, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Constipation and its impact on stomack bowels

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

One of the first treatments that must be applied for constipation is to eat a high fiber diet to provide natural bulk in daily food intake. For many people, however, the amount of fruits and vegetables that are necessary may be inconveniently large or may not provide adequate relief from constipation. It often involves stomach pain (sometimes to the point of being crippling), diarrhea and/or vomiting, with non inflammatory infection of the upper small bowel, or inflammatory infections of the colon. These above are also the symptoms of the often called: stomach flu or gastric flu even though it is not related to influenza. If inflammation is limited to the stomach, the term gastritis is used, and if the small bowel alone is affected it is enteritis. Read more on Herbal Cleanse and Bowels stomach
