This is sometimes called starvation mode. This mode is how your body would survive if there was a famine. Cells don’t work as well in starvation mode. This is why it is important to eat breakfast each day.
There are also certain foods which can help in boosting metabolism. Sugary foods do not help (these actually slow metabolism rather than speed it up), but spicy foods have been seen to help in weight loss by boosting metabolism. Eating small, tasty, and healthy meals several times a day is the best approach when trying to lose weight.

There are different reasons why the body’s weight fluctuates and it’s not uncommon for a person’s weight to change slightly from day-to-day. When a person eats less, they are likely to drop a pound or two from one day to the next. The same is true if they overindulge over the holidays in turkey with all the trimmings and chocolates. Their weight will go up. However if there is a rapid weight gain when a person hasn’t consumed extra calories, visiting a doctor is called for.

Although i want to lose wieght - and want it desperately - I’m pretty firm about doing it the right way. I only want to lose weight naturally. I don’t mind taking pills, but they must contain natural herbs or else I’m not going to take them. I have heard all kinds of late-night shows talk about the hazards of man-made chemicals. Although not all doctors agree - and mine actually laughed at me when I brought it up - it still seems like a risk not worth taking. i want to lose wieght to be healthy, not to get sick from chemicals!

The Zone Diet was invented by a one Dr. Sears. Like most popular food diets, there is a website dedicated to it, where the good doctor explains the principles of his Zone Diet, and introduces the concept of a brand new way of eating while getting sufficient nutrition. And like so many of today’s diets, the message is drummed home about how the term ‘diet’ is not really apt in this case, as it implies this is a quick-fix, lose weight diet plan, but it’s not! It’s a complete change in lifestyle, a break in old eating habits for good, and the continued maintenance of such for those that not only want to stay looking slim, but healthy too.

The starting point when considering the causes of hypertension is to be clear about whether we are talking about essential (primary) hypertension or secondary hypertension.
For essential hypertension, which affects around about 90% to 95% of sufferers, there is seldom any clearly identifiable cause and hypertension frequently develops slowly over time.
For secondary high blood pressure however there are several identifiable causes which include things like kidney problems, congenital heart failure, prescription medicines and even simple over-the-counter decongestants.
Please see the full text of this article to learn more about the cause of high blood pressure.
