Bundt cake recipes are cake recipes that use a “bundt” cake pan or a round baking pan that with a hole in the middle and ridged, decorated sides. Bundt cake recipes use a dense cake such as a butter or pound cake recipe. These cakes are sturdy and last well. Recipes often call for a simple glaze or fruit topping. The name Bundt comes from the German word bund, which means “a gathering of people.”

I love baking cakes. Recently, I have starting experimenting with decorating cakes in new ways. I learned something quickly: I can put frosting on a cake just fine, provided it requires no fancy stuff. So, I started using jelly beans on the top of my cakes instead of complicated frosting configurations. I stick them together in patterns or make pictures. They don’t look professional, but they sure look fun. My nieces and nephews all want me to make their birthday cakes this year. However, instead of signing up for birthday baking, I sent the kids’ mother a link to the article where I got the idea. If you want to read the full article, you can go to Ten Additional Uses for Jelly Beans.
You can find great prices on jelly beans at Candy Warehouse.

One of my all-time favorite sweets is apple crumble. It’s just such a classic recipe that never seems to go out of fashion. Generations of adults and kids have grown up loving apple crumble and it doesn’t look like things are about to change any time soon if my family and friends are anything to go by!
Making this delicious dish is so simple - this yummy apple crumble recipe with cinnamon and pecans shows you just how easy it is to whip up a mouth-watering treat everyone will love!

It’s tough to find someone who doesn’t like chocolate. Maybe it’s partially due to the fact that chocolate releases endorphins, the same neurotransmitters that make you feel good after you sneeze or have sex or fall in love. The nearly universal draw to chocolate makes chocolate, in any shape or form, an extremely popular gift. This is as true for children as it is for grandparents; who didn’t love trick-or-treating when they were little or receiving a box of chocolates for Valentine ’s Day when they were older? Chocolate is a great gift for just about anyone, big or small.
Of course, all chocolate is not created equal. Though the mass-produced chocolates made by companies like M&M, Mars, and Hershey’s taste good, they’re really nothing compared to gourmet chocolate. It’s a bit of a shame that some people go their whole lives thinking that “gourmet chocolate” refers to those heart-shaped boxes of factory truffles passed around after Valentine’s Day, but this couldn’t be further from the truth (especially if you get to the box of Valentine’s chocolates last and all that’s left are the picked-over remains, most of them with holes in the bottom where Aunt May punched her thumb through to see what kind of chocolate each contained).

If you really aren’t up to making your own fruit trays, or you simply don’t have the time on occasion, you can find some that are already made up. You can find them in stores, though you may have to make-do with what they have rather than choosing your own fruit. You can also order some online, or you can find special trays or fruits you can’t find locally if you look around on the Internet to see what is out there. You may be surprised to see what you can find in the way of neat themed trays for holidays and great fruit choices you would love to try.

Of all the places to find a book of receipts Mount Rushmore South Dakota was not a place I would have thought to look. In the tourist center there was a book of receipts from the local people and it contained some wonderful dishes. Someone put some real time and effort into this publication as there were full color pictures of the dish and of the person who submitted it. Not all of it was what you would call local home town cooking either. There were some fancy deserts that would make the chef at the Hilton in New York City salivate. Of course there were local dishes too. There was your run of the mill pot roast with carrots and potatoes and your egg salad sandwich. There was an oriental stir fry with some spices that I had never heard of. There was a buffalo meatloaf that looked quite interesting. Now that’s one you would expect to see in a South Dakota cookbook. There are actually people there that raise buffalo much like farmers raise cattle for the food market. It is becoming more and more popular and can actually be found on the grocery store shelves nation wide now.

I am a huge chocolate fan. There is just nothing better some days than a nice mouthful of chocolate. Chocolate truffles really satisfy my craving for chocolate because they just seem to melt in your mouth. You can savor the flavor and let it sit in your mouth a few minutes. The smell is very intense and makes them taste even better. There are so many different chocolate truffles to select from that it’s never boring to eat them. They’re extremely good and delicious to enjoy.
