Almost everyone is short on time these days. When it comes to mealtime, you don’t have hours to be spending getting dinner on the table. In the old days, when most women didn’t work, they had plenty of time to be making that fine, home cooked meal. You don’t! However, that doesn’t mean that home cooked meals are out of the question. Whether you’re a student who is not much on cooking, or a busy working Mom, here are five quick, easy recipes you can prepare on the fly, ready in 30 minutes or less. Cream of crab soup

When the roux has the consistency of a thick paste, start adding the milk, just a few tablespoons at a time, always stirring with your whisk all the while. When you’ve added sufficient milk to give the roux the consistency of a thick sauce, you can add the milk in greater amounts, until the entire quart has been incorporated into the sauce. Continue cooking, over a low-medium heat for several more minutes. The sauce will continue to thicken. If the resulting sauce is too thick for your taste, add small amounts of milk until it’s the consistency you prefer. Add the crab – or Krab(TM) – and reduce the heat to low, while you prepare the rest of the contents for the pot. This forms the basis of your cream of crab soup.

For When You Love Cooking

Of all the things I love to do, cooking is one of the best. I read every book and article about cooking, trying to find the newest and greatest products and hints. I recently read the article “My Seven Favorite Things about an Electric Skillet and I was hooked. I went out and bought one right away. Now, it might sound crazy, but I’m definitely not crazy. I didn’t buy the meat saw parts the last article recommended. But I do know that my cooking time has lessened and my cooking has actually improved since getting this skillet.

Food costs – Don’t stress!

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Where do you like to dine? For many Americans, dining out is a daily routine. Now, the question is; where do you dine out? Are we talking burger joints and drive-thrus? Well, the food costs may be low at these “fine establishments,” however the health risks are hardly worth the savings. In reality it is much wiser to dine at home. This way you can prepare healthy meals for you and your family. Not to mention the food costs are considerably different than those found in most restaurants. Just think about how much you actually fork out weekly for food. It might make you cringe and do some serious adjusting.

I believe the standard allure to eating out concerns the work aspect. There basically isn’t any involved. Unless you consider the money you worked hard for, because as many of us know, a dinner at an upper-scale restaurant can cost some bucks. Food costs aside, it is rather relaxing to enjoy someone else’s cooking for a change. There are no dirty dishes to clean, and always a great selection of entrees to choose from. I have to admit, I enjoy dining out as much as the next guy, but these days I try to consider the health factor of it all.

Whether we’d like to believe it or not, dining out is typically not the healthiest of options at hand. Fortunately we can purchase all the necessities from our local supermarkets. Virtually anything you need to prepare a great feast can be found, and for a reasonable price if you do some browsing. For example, get the store brand over the name brand and you will probably save some dough in the process.

Do you have any idea what you spend on groceries each week? Are you always figuring the food costs into your budget? This is where we were always going wrong. We used to spend way too much money on groceries. It wasn’t about eating out, but about getting quick, and already prepared meals each night. This will jack up your weekly food costs by a ton. Fortunately we’ve moved past the lazy approach, and have adopted the smart and less expensive one. Purchasing the right food items and preparing your own meals is the best way to reduce your family’s food costs, and to reduce the financial stress.

Look at the TeslaWAV unit. It can help you save on stress so when you eat out, the sticker shock won’t kill you!
