Basic Wine Making Supplies

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

When you are first deciding to make wine at home, there are a few basic wine making supplies that you are going to need to have.

For the set up of your wine making operation, you will need a 7.9 gallon primary fermentor, one that has a drilled gasket lid.

This will be used to grow the yeast and as well to allow lots of oxygen to your wine.

You are also going to need a drilled stopper, which is also known as a bung, and this is needed to fit the carboy, along with the airlock, to allow the oxygen to stay out of your fermentation and keep the carbon to be released from the carboy.

That Americanized version of this Italian dish lacked the delicacy and charm of the real deal and might have fit into the category of Typical American Food. However, Italian restaurants, run by Italians, produced the true, homemade spaghetti. Americans flocked to these restaurants to indulge in the many hearty and delicious Italian dishes. Today, the Italian cuisine has become so popular, we have cooking magazines devoted entirely to Italian food, now typical American food.

Cajun and Creole style food was perhaps the first occurrence of fusion food in America. French, Caribbean and African cuisines contributed to these unique dishes. Back in the day, you literally had to travel to New Orleans to experience this culinary delight.

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Some historians will tell you that coffee wasn’t originally a hot drink. Drinking coffee as a beverage did not occur until about 1000 A.D. Historians of coffee facts claim that for about three hundred years coffee was actually drank with the grounds included. Eventually people thought it was better to leave the grounds in the bottom of their cups and attempt to consume just the liquid. As coffee consumption increased coffee houses were being built and they became popular places for friends to have a good time.
