Cholesterol is a chemical compound manufactured in the body that helps the body to make steroid hormones and bile acids. It is a soft, waxy substance used to form cell membranes and some hormones. Therefore, it is a normal part of all our body cells. Cholesterol is essential for health and key to production of certain hormones, including estrogen and testosterone, and in production of bile essential for digestion
Because monounsaturated fat is lowers the “bad cholesterol levels, it may assist in reducing heart disease. Adding monounsaturated fats to your diet shouldn’t be difficult as they are found in natural foods like canola, olive, and peanut oils, as well as most nuts, and certain cold water fish species such salmon, halibut, mackerel, and rainbow trout. They are also the main component of tea seed oil and olive oil. Most monounsaturated fats are rich in Vitamin E. Fat helps the body absorb fat-soluble nutrients such as vitamins A, D, E, and K. If you live long enough on the planet Earth, you KNOW Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant vitamin and is called the youth vitamin.

I am personally going to make a map of all the restaurants in the eastern Iowa tourism region of the state as I seem to be spending a lot of my time there. My desire first started when a girlfriend of mine in the area started taking me out to eat to repay me for chores that I had done for her. I did a lot of chores so there were a lot of meals. She doesn’t like to take the time to cook so the restaurant idea was launched. We only went to the same restaurant once every other meal was at a different place. The funny thing was that we would start to run into the same people in different establishments. Then I found out one of the things she did was to read the local attractions section of the paper. She would read about a place with a good review and want to go check it out. Apparently there were several other couples in the area doing the same thing. Most of these restaurants were recently opened and it seems that is one of the best ways to get your initial business. You call up the local paper and offer their food critic a free meal in exchange for a review.

With increasing consumer awareness, customers are beginning to expect much more from retailers and hoteliers. Service and quality of the product is as important as the price. Loyalty programs have been a part of retail stores for sometime now. However with developments in restaurant POS software, restaurant owners are also able to track their customer data and offer attractive promotions and offers to their regular customers. The restaurant POS software helps managers to track a customer’s order history, frequency of visit and delivery information as well. The software can be programmed to capture all relevant data and present it when required so they can serve customers better.

A group of restaurant owners are following the lead of some wineries in the area and instead of having a wine trail they are having a restaurant trail. They plan on harvesting more of the east central Iowa tourism dollar than in previous years. There restaurants are all within an hours drive of the Quad Cities and have varied menus. At any one of these establishments you can pick up a map and a punch card. The map shows where each eatery is located and they are color coded as what kind of fare they serve. As you would expect the restaurants along the river all serve seafood although some of them are also listed as a good place to get a steak. The more upscale sites are in the uptown areas although some of them also have fish on the menu. A trail runner takes his punch card to the place he has chosen to eat and gets it marked for that establishment. After having visited all the places on the map and gotten a stamp from each one the card can be redeemed for a night’s stay in one of the listed motels – all of which contain a fine restaurant.

every person you know around in your neighborhood has a plan for a dream kitchen in his mind. With the latest range and options available and with the great list of brands it is a lot easier now. If your remodeling your kitchen or making a new one the options you have can range from stainless steel to the contemporary white finish. Keep the entire look in mind while designing your cooking area with these home appliances. The extensive shades of muted gray also exist but they are not considered very trendy. Our family went in with the white home appliances as that would blend in with the decor. The electric range that is current favorite among many households has innovative features in them today. Our ancestors swore by the gas range however the electric with the warm setting helps you keep the food warm right in time till dinner. The other new appliance the voice activated microwave does your job so simpler it does the cooking with the voice command you mention to it.

It is no surprise that choosing which home fitness equipment you should buy is not an easy task. After all, each year brings about an onslaught of new home fitness equipment pieces, ranging from virtually effortless (a brace-like wide belt worn around the middle to stimulate the muscles), to virtually back-breaking exercise routines.
Everyone seems to have their own definition for back-breaking; for some, all home fitness equipment is to be avoided at all costs while for others, it seems that no weight or exercise is enough. For still others, cardiovascular equipment could be the ultimate curse as far as concerns of home fitness equipment.

It can take time to prepare raw foods. Which is why a juicer is an important addition to your kitchen once your start to be serious about raw foods. A good juicer can process an entire apple – seeds, stems, peel, pulp and all – and turn all that into a healthy, nutritious juice.
Buying apple juice is NOT the same thing!!! Don’t even look at apple juices or even ciders in the grocery store. Put that $2 or $3 aside and save up for a juicer. Buy bags of apples, orange, bananas, carrots and make your own juices to get everything from the fruit that you’d get by eating it raw. Now you’re getting juice that’s as fresh as the fruit or vegetable you made it from. No preservatives, no processing that strips most of the energy from the fruit. And think of all the delicious combinations you can make with the many tropical fruits that are available now in most grocery stores. You can customize your fruits and add non-typical ingredients like pumpkin to an orange juice. Now that’s a powerhouse of a juice!

It’s tough to find someone who doesn’t like chocolate. Maybe it’s partially due to the fact that chocolate releases endorphins, the same neurotransmitters that make you feel good after you sneeze or have sex or fall in love. The nearly universal draw to chocolate makes chocolate, in any shape or form, an extremely popular gift. This is as true for children as it is for grandparents; who didn’t love trick-or-treating when they were little or receiving a box of chocolates for Valentine ’s Day when they were older? Chocolate is a great gift for just about anyone, big or small.
Of course, all chocolate is not created equal. Though the mass-produced chocolates made by companies like M&M, Mars, and Hershey’s taste good, they’re really nothing compared to gourmet chocolate. It’s a bit of a shame that some people go their whole lives thinking that “gourmet chocolate refers to those heart-shaped boxes of factory truffles passed around after Valentine’s Day, but this couldn’t be further from the truth (especially if you get to the box of Valentine’s chocolates last and all that’s left are the picked-over remains, most of them with holes in the bottom where Aunt May punched her thumb through to see what kind of chocolate each contained).

With the focus in our world, as of late, being on the safety of both food and toys, there are many things that we are forced to think about. There are obviously some changes that need to be made when a child’s toy ends up being made with what is considered a date rape drug. It’s not just toys that are problematic either….

Since time immemorial business is never mixed with personal life, the same phenomenon is applicable to appliances all over. If your workspace is home based then your appliance needs will be same as that of your home. However, the company running a huge organization will have different needs. The demarcation between both the appliances is just very less as they need the same comfort at work and at home they use the same basic set of appliance to fulfill their needs. There are five basic, regular kitchen appliance, these are the washer and dryer, stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. Other, smaller home appliances can include a microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, blender, mixer, food processor, extra ranges and more.
Every business requires a fewer set of kitchen appliances as homes do, however there might be exceptions in which you might require high end models. For example, in your home the typical coffee maker that is switched on probably early in the morning will not work for an office of 500 persons at each floor. The higher the need the bigger will be the device purchasing any equipment for your home is a major decision on your part. The purchase is far more than a one time investment you don’t want to run into repairs every now and then. The appliance should be more durable and be efficient in years to come.

For many students the start of their university life is marked by the first time that they actually live without their parents. A lot of them change their eating habits tremendously after moving to the university campus as their daily routine is changed completely and because there is no one there to provide them with a good, healthy, home-made meal.
Fast food becomes their new source of meals and, as good as it tastes, after some month they will notice that it is not only unhealthy but also makes them gain wait. This is the reason why many students then start to go on diets regularly. The problem is that after most short-term diets people gain weight again and have to start the next diet. It is a vicious circle!
A major problem for many students who try to get back to healthy eating habits again is that they don’t really know how to cook. Luckily the internet provides us with a wide variety of cooking sites and recipe sites. Many of them are also centred on the topic of healthy living and healthy cooking. You can find many tasty, low calorie recipes that are really easy to prepare for everyone. After some time many students even start to like cooking and even see it as a hobby.
An advantage of dieting on campus is that most universities offer an intensive fitness program. You will only lose weight if you combine healthy nutrition with exercise, which is why many students join the sports clubs to get fit again.
For new students my advice is to watch your eating habits from the start so that you don’t even get to the point where you will want to lose weight again. If they try to stay away from the temptations the campus offers they will be able to keep the weight they had before without any problems.

There are many people who are reluctant to add more chemicals into their body to treat certain ailments and for those seeking a natural remedy for allergies, there are numerous herbs available which offer some help.
Everybody needs a little extra interferon once in awhile to help fight infections and licorice root increases the interferon level as well as fights inflammation. It has been proven as one of the most popular herbs.
For those seeking a natural remedy for allergies caution should be exercised as some herbs can cause harmful interactions with natural conditions. For example, licorice can hinder those suffering from high blood pressure or diabetes and marshmallows can slow the absorption of medication if taken simultaneously.

One of the best parts of reading anything about Iowa tourism is that Iowans love their food and more often than not incorporate that into the event. Take the Iowa State fair for example. The center of the fair revolves around the raising of food from the beef, pork and sheep to the tomatoes, beets, and turnips. And one of the things that the locals know very well – you can get more different foods on a stick here than anywhere else in the world. You can find all the normal things such as a deep fried corn dog, but you can get some exotic things as well such as a deep fried dill pickle on a stick. Two years ago one vender came up with the idea of selling a chili dog on a stick. He incorporated the chili into the breading surrounding the dog and deep fried the whole thing. Another vender was selling deep fried Snickers on a stick that went over quite well with the younger crowd. There was the all Iowa pork chop on a stick that was developed specifically to be marketed at the fair. Of course we can’t for get the meat balls on a stick. That was one of the few things that didn’t have to be deep fat fried!

I was looking for a good place to get some quality food in the state so I contacted the Central Iowa Tourism Center and they told me about the Amana Colonies. These people are known for doing things the old fashioned way with no electricity or motorized anything. This creates a challenge in that the stoves are all wood fired and someone has to get the wood. Without using a chainsaw, because a chainsaw is powered, them men and boys hitch their horses to a wagon, grab a hand saw, and head off for the wooded area near by. Dad usually does the heavy cutting and the boys do the hauling and stacking of the wood into the wagon. You have to remember that the wood needs to age a year, so that means that they are working on next years supply. When the day is almost finished they drive the team of horses back up to the farmyard and unload. Over the next few months everyone in the family takes their turn at splitting and stacking next year’s heat. The use of this wood in the cooking gives the food a wonderful smoky flavor that just can’t be found when other means of heat are used.

The Northeast Iowa Tourism board wants to invite you to some special places in that section of the state. There is a lot of deer hunting in that area and you are invited to one of the local lockers where the deer are processed. You can see how a butcher makes the different cuts of meat and from which part of the animal they come from. For those that are a little squeamish about watching the process from the start you can start from where the deer are already cut up into different parts and then cut into the actual steaks and roast. You will also see deer sausage made in several different ways and the locker will share it’s receipt for the spices used. Most of the deer meat is made into sausage as it is the most versatile product taken from the animal. Deer meat has a very low fat concentration so it must be mixed with another source of fat. Usually beef fat is used as it is cheap and available anywhere. At the end of the tour you will be led to the store where you can purchase many different receipt books dedicated to the preparation of venison.

Professional cookware is used not only in big hotels or restaurants, but also in millions of households. Stainless steel cookware is composed primarily of Steel, but better-quality products include Nickel, and all products also include chromium, and either copper or aluminum. Another thing with high grade stainless steel is that it does not require any coating like Teflon, which can get into food sometimes. Learn more about stainless steel cookware.
