The first pizzas were made and eaten only by peasants, but the first official cheese pizza was that created for royalty, in Italy, by a man who was a baker and who was called upon to cook for the visiting King Umberto and the Queen Margherita. Designing the cheese pizza around the Italian flag, Raffaele Esposito used, simply, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and basil, making a white, red, and green cuisine that got instant rave reviews and that has endured for over 111 years.

South African food is a combination of indigenous Bantu traditions and the influence of the British and Dutch settlers. The French also played a part, starting up many vineyards, and immigrant workers from Malaysia brought curries. The Indians sent by the British to work on the railway construction also brought their cuisine. East African food does not involve much meat. Livestock is used for trading purposes and not for food. The only strong influence here from outside is the legacy of the Arab settlers who brought cloves, saffron and rice.

An article about diet and the workplace
More and more employers are becoming concerned with the health and well being of their employees and taking a look at their diets and weight loss. If the staff is in better health, the insurance rates for the employer will be reduced. Employees who are healthy will also miss less time at work for medical reasons. If an employer puts together a corporate weight loss program with diet counseling it is a winning situation for both employers and employees.
Obesity is a serious health condition affecting millions of Americans. It costs United States businesses approximately $13 billion annually in health care costs and productivity for loss of work related to medical absences. Workplace diet programs play a large role in helping employees achieve weight loss. People who participate in corporate weight loss programs and diet programs report a higher success rate. The single most frequent cause of halitosis is the result of common, everyday bacteria inside the mouth that release odoriferous gases. Odors coming from the stomach and lungs are almost never the cause of chronic bad breath. These common, oral bacteria go through life just as humans do, consuming foods and releasing wastes (gases). The released gases are termed Volatile Sulfur Compounds or VSC’s, and it is primarily these odoriferous wastes that lie at the root of bad breath-halitosis.
Because halitosis has been scientifically proven to be a direct result of VSC gases, we have been able to formulate a product guaranteed to combat halitosis and stop bad breath. But BEWARE of products that want to cover up bad breath and not solve it.

If you always like to accompany your cup of coffee with a chocolate cookie or other chocolate-based treat, or if you usually order a hot chocolate drink, you might not consider yourself a chocoholic, but you certainly make it to the fans’ category. But even of chocolate is not your first choice when it comes to desert, you should probably by familiar with at least its main categories, just in case you are asked if you prefer couverture over white chocolate for your ice-cream glace.
- Dark Chocolate can contain anything from 30% to 75% cocoa solids. It has a slightly sweet flavor and a dark color and it is the chocolate type most used in cooking. For everyday cooking and the majority of the recipes for dark chocolate, choose one with around 50% cocoa solids. However, dark chocolate with a higher cocoa solid content will give a richer, more intense, flavor. This chocolate is often called luxury or continental chocolate and has a cocoa solid content of between 70-75%. Occasionally, cooking experts support that it is essential to use a better chocolate, but the recipe should specify when that is the case.

Ensuring you are dieting correctly and effectively is more important than just cutting back how many meals you intake in a day. Knowing your body and what does and doesn’t make you feel good is good is an important think to know when changing your nutritional intake. Very cheap food supplements will not give your body the proper nutrition when you are eating to maintain a diet for a particular sport.
A determination of how much how much fat, carbohydrates, and proteins you can intake is best determined by calculating your body and fat mass index. Very cheap supplements are usually just that, very cheap; proper nutrition is important and not always cheap.

The main reason why there is not a “perfect” juicer is because different fruits and vegetables have vastly different properties. This ultimately means that a juicing method which is effective for a particular type of fruit may not be the best choice for another. Staying healthy has recently been associated with consuming more fresh juices. But improving the juicing experience is a matter of knowing what works best for a particular produce and how a juicer can maintain its highly presumed qualities.
In particular, fruits have softer cell walls and therefore require a more gentle extraction method. Juicing apples, pears, watermelons, cantaloupes and pineapples can be an easy process if the peel is off and they are chopped into smaller more easily handled pieces. On the other hand, citrus fruits, like oranges, lemons, grapefruits, or tangerines, should be juiced along with their bitter outer surface -after grating away their outer rind. But keeping the white skin area is extremely important, according to nutritionists, since it is in there where the most valuable nutrients are contained.

From the moment health experts begun discussing the unique nutrients and important elements fruits and vegetables contain, people are browsing through kitchen utensil shelves in their effort to locate the best juicer that can help them stay healthy. However, as different equipment are used to perform a variety of functions, choosing a juicer is not only a matter of price, brand, or shape, but rather an issue of covering specific consumer needs.
Considered one of the most widely found kitchen utensils, the juicer has a conical ridged center that is pressed against a fruit or vegetable to extract its juices. Mainly used as part of the food preparation process, juicers help people squeeze the juice out from the soft-centered citrus fruits, like orange, lemon, lime or grapefruit. By cutting those in half and then pressing down their inner surface against the conical ridged center of a juicer, the necessary amount of juice is extracted to be consumed directly as a juice in a glass or to be part of the cooking endeavors of a person. Usually, the rest of the fruit -its skin, pulp and seeds- is discarded after the squeezing process is over and no more juice comes out.

Real barbecue involves cooking meat using smoke rather than direct heat. This can be achieved by purchasing a barbecue pit that is created to cook food in this manner. Or, you can achieve the same results with a charcoal, gas or propane grill, as long as it has a hood to keep the smoke in. Because that’s the number one requirement of authentic barbecued food – it must be cooked using indirect heat (smoke) rather than having flame applied. Now, this can take an awfully long time. We’re talking six to eight hours for ribs. If you just don’t have that kind of time, check out our barbecue grilling tips that allow you to eat in a reasonable amount of time yet still experience great barbecue flavor.
